Thursday Jul 23, 2009
A national team of researchers, led by Nicole Letourneau of the University of New Brunswick, is seeking Canadian fathers to participate in a new study designed to help us understand the experiences of men whose partners have experienced postpartum depression. Currently the study is in the recruitment phase and the team is seeking assistance in reaching out to men who have helped their partners cope with postpartum depression and are willing to be interviewed for a study. The results will enable researchers to develop an intervention for fathers which will help them understand more about suppotring their partners through PPD.If you work with Canadian fathers who may be willing to participate in a one-on-one telephone interview about their experiences their partner's postpartum depression, call 1-888-790-1777 or 506-447-3043.
The DADS Study is a collaborative research project between the University of New Brunswick, the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, University of Toronto and Carleton University. More information about the study is available at http://www.unbf.ca/nursing/child/DADSstudy.html
